Leanne Marshall (USA), Aries Lagat (Philippines), and Juli Grbac (Australia) were declared Project Runway Winners in their own respective country's version of the fashion design show but LTE's Project Runway Season 4 has no winner yet. It's time to decide.

LTE's Project Runway Season 4 has a new twist. The Challenge: The four designers (Lyka, Ekra, Jezebel, and Mama O) have to design clothes for each other. In that case, each has to model for her 3 fellow competitors and for her own collection as well.
And to prevent biases (but bias cut on skirts is permitted. Chos!), no mentions of the designer's name is allowed during the voting span. (Designers will be designated only as Designer A to D). Drawing of lots was done for the show's order of presentation. No specific allocations of signature wigs, walk, paraphernalia, and shoes this time. Judging will be focused on the design, per se (Tse!).
All of our designers have worked long and hard to get to this point and we are very excited to see their collections. So,...... Let's start the show!

I have assessed my votes based on what would I want to wear if I was a girl (with long legs, pretty face and a well proportioned frame) =).
1st: I really love the concept and story behind (or front) of designer D “Pretty Edgy”. It’s young, fun, flirty and stand-out! Especially the billowing dresses and gowns, and I highly commend the color pallet.
2nd: “Kahlua on Olives”: its sophisticated, restrained and some pieces are in classic silhouettes that can be worn by girls and women alike, with the proper accessories of course. Good cohesion and progression.
3rd: “Melanatis” good construction and fit.
4th: “Beau Lacque Lacque" very good attempt. Nice concept. That’s all. Bow.

My comments are:
A - not impressive enough, designs are wishy washy so, so! I could not see personality of the designer in the collections ... except the common headress
B - needs more flair and ohmmp! But not really bad ....
C - has some future and some of the dress are really sexy wearable.
D - Love the gowns. Lovely choice of colors. The only minus factor is the ballooning effect at the back. YOu should just have let it flow without the airpackets ...

nakabalik na ako mula sa aking nagkukunwang blogging sabbatical at maligayang tinatanggap ang hamong maging bahagi ng inampalan. chorvs!
A - uhm, me attempt sa combi ng mga tela. hindi boring. type ko ang 5th design - yung hotpants. chuck taylor nga lang yung layered na kukur (4th design ata to.)
B - ito ata ang paborito kong word: innovative. mahilig ako sa folds, billows at ang right amount of volume. BEAUTIFUL sila, except the 2nd to the last design (which was DISASTROUS!) AYLAV ang pabago-bagong piece-shapes without losing the essence and aim of the dress - which is to protect, cover and flatter the wearer.
C - frontispieces ang karamihan sa kanila kasi chucks ang mga back designs ng dress. a dress is a dress is a dress. otherwise, it is a half-dress. i like the way the leg part of the tangerine jumper was sewn though. And the last piece, the gown, was simply, extemporaneous.
d - Is it O or the yellow dress is just shapeless? I like the colors and the way origami folds or what have you have been incorporated. But then, is it me or the pretty edgy idea was to lose the shape in the design? At bakit andaming buhol?

Oddly enough, my favorite outfit came from designer A's last outfit(long dress with a beautiful pattern.
hay finally, you addressed the public's clamor for another season of LTE Proj Runway. after all the needles have been safely tucked, the retasos disposed of, the wigs stored in the closet, and the stilettos stabbed at each other's back... let's get down to business of judging the collections.
collection a. 'resort wear' came into my mind. i wanna bring them clothes to my holiday in maldives. look 6 stands out for its sophistication. look 8 is matrionic, hinahanap sya ni tingting cojuangco (NOT bubbles cojuangco, ok?). look 9 is ferosh and is the best piece of your collection; i love how you placed the print for full effect. overall, di ko naramdaman ang collection mo.
collection b: 'victoria beckham' first look pa lang. is this a collaboration with her? choz! i love the slutty elegance to the collection. but it was repititive and hardly innovative. the 6th look (or was it the 7th)... basta yung black/navy blue dress is my fave coz you can tell that the skirt is labor-intensive. did you employ illegal mexican workers for the darting? oh di ba, may alam na akong darting? choz!
collection c: 'gasp'... yan ang sinabi ko sa first piece. the tailoring is admirable, but the ribbon at the back destroys the first look. the next pieces bored me to death for their lack of character. fifth look saved the day: i love the proportions of the sleeves and the length of the pants. very playful indeed. the seventh look (yung parang silver gown) is a lovely surprise. the finale look is stunning; my favorite look in your collection and definitely the best this season. greta wants that gown!
collection d: ahhh... color. eyeloveit! the colors made me smile. the craftmanship in the first piece is there. the blue look has a horrible fit, sayang kase i can see na pinaghirapan ang pagtatahi. but then, fitting is essential, and you know that. di ko feel ang white parachute dress... and the one that follows. the light blue gown saved the collection a bit, but in general, the gowns dragged the collection to pure gimickry.
sorry ladies, di ko bet ang season na to. di ako na-excite. walang emotional connection. the clothes were easily forgettable coz they lacked innovation, walang nag dare this season. baket?

Designer C - It's quite apparent what you're trying to do here. The collection is very impressive. I'm amazed you decided to make shorts and a jumper. Not exactly 100% well made and flattering but the risk you took is great. The dresses do tend to be over-designed but one thing is for sure; the finale dress is simply gorgeous. It blew me away.
Second
Designer A - What the hell does Bean Lacque Lacque mean? Does it mean modernized boho because that's the vibe I'm getting from this collection? Each piece is unique but I would have appreciated the concept if the silhouettes more were cohesive. You were almost there.
Third
Designer D - The jumpsuit and the first dress are lovely. The jumpsuit is really wearable yet edgy. The rest of the collection is a tad confusing. It's like you couldn't decide whether you're going to do Carrie Bradshaw or goddess.
Fourth
Designer B - The entire collection is definitely wearable. I do like the second look but these are dresses that we can find in department stores.
Best: Designer C's last piece

Comment on D though, should've chosen 1 color, the technique is there, but the assortment of colors is too much, I don't like the gowns so much, reminds me of blankets turned to gowns.

A and B - good job also. But most of the designs are plain short outfits. I like some of the dresses though!

C, your first half was not thy enticing. The later dresses were superb. I like how you were safe with one color tone/set.

D, I understand what you wanted us to feel and appreciate. I thought it was too divided- speaking of the fabrics as well. The flow was captured though.
A, I know you meant well. Some of the dresses could be great with real women. It scared me watching it here. Sorry.

I risk the scourge of four designers and their adoring public by saying that by far, this for me has been the worst among all LTE Project Runway Seasons.
Most of the collections lacked coherence and it is a jumble of these and those or is it just me. Wala ngang challenge "theme" except for the designer and model shuffle. The collections were named very intriguingly, but as words create expectations, most of them failed because the collections strayed a bit far from their names. Eg: Pretty Edgy is far from Edgy but more like billowy.
However, I noticed that in most, if not all designs, the model was considered. Nag fit naman ng maayos somehow.
With that, on to the collections
Designer A: Love ko ang color combinations ng collection na ito at bawat piece has something fashion forward that you can't quite put a finger on. The shorter pieces spell fun and sun. Conceptual ang tema pero hindi na translate sa finished product. Either nakukulangan ako o nasosobrahan.
Best piece: The last piece was a classic yet stunning.
Worst Piece: The Toilet paper look of the sixth piece
Designer B:
Sweet little pieces that were exciting and revealing. I like the color combination and the variation but the collection was destroyed by printed fabric of the 4th piece and the last piece and the monochrome black of the 6th piece. The last piece also deviated from all the rest by being a longish piece.
Best Piece: Toss up between the 5th and 7th piece
Worst Piece: aside from being oddly colored, the 6th piece didn't quite impress me.
Designer C: Melanitis
Allusion to Melanie Marquez or Melamine creates huge expectations. The neutral colors were no where near exciting but the designs were commendable. There is an exciting mix of little and big dresses in this collection plus a surprising "jumper" number. Good solid pieces and nice 'texturizing'. The drapes were nicely executed but the was a bit stiff and didn't allow a good 'flow.'
Best Piece: the lacey 4th piece was nice and sweet.
Worst Piece: The effort is commendable but the jumper piece just didn't make my cut.
Designer D: Pretty Edgy
The color splash was too much and the 'billowy' galit sa tela pieces were too much for me. The nice detailings on the pieces are almost overlooked because of the puffy extra fabrics. This collection is the mostnoncohesive among the four.
Best Piece: The blue billowy gown is the only piece where the billowy effect worked.
Worst Piece: The yellow gown looks like a 'tweety bird' inspired air bag.

halu, heto ang aking hatol:
1st place: MELANITIS - di ko getz ang meaning ng theme pero ang aking interpretation ay ito ay tribute kay melanie marquez or isang social commentary on melamine contamination ng food products from china. nevertheless, cohesive ang koleksyon sa aking paningin; malawak ang range ng short pieces to the longer gowns.
i liked 6 of the 8 outfits (kaya sya 1st place). di ko keri ang piece #5; like ko ang piece #7 kasi naalala ko si julianne moore sa film na far from heaven peor ang pinaka-luv ko ay ang piece #8.
2nd place: BEAU LACQUE LACQUE - in spite of the seemingly avant garde na name, getz ko this time ang meaning ng concept. buo din ang koleksyon sa aking pananaw, and this was tied by a common fabric that popped out in varying degrees on the pieces.
5 out of 8 outfits ang keri ko. effective lahat ng short pieces but the one i luv most was the long gown (piece #8). least ko feel ang piece #2.
3rd place: neck-and-neck ang remaining designers but i have to choose PRETTY EDGY because i like the choice of colors and fabrics. keri din ang mga cuts although sana medyo na-tone down ang pag-gamit ng billowy things kasi it diminished the edgi-ness of the collection, hence i thought, 'pretty, but not-so-edgy!'
i liked 3 out of the 8 pieces but i love pieces #4 and #7 most. di ko naman bet ang piece #2.
4th place: obviously, KAHLUA ON OLIVES; hindi sya masyadong high fasyon but i can see it being worn by girls and pa-girls all around. very much wearable ang mga pieces, aminin. gusto ko rin ang color palette ng koleksyon.
i liked 3 out of 8 pieces; stand-out ang pieces #7 and #8 while di ko keri ang piece #4.
OVER-ALL, best piece is BEAU LACQUE LACQUE's piece #8. the other end of the spectrum is KAHLUA ON OLIVE's piece #4.

Although I am also impressed by the flowy blue dress by the last designer. The designer B, in my opionion, has the most consistent and surprising collections.

the mood and whimsy of this collection just lifted my spririts up, what with all that's happening in the economy bla bla, but enough about that. these dressiez are what i want to be seen wearing in dreams.
2nd: Designer B
this collection made me think of the 20s, (because of the first shapeless, loose outfit perhaps). love the dresses... totally wearable wish i could buy 'em.
3d: Designer A
i like how the colors (kind of like a faded water color painting of a koi fish) are muted and style is boho-like. i feel as if this could have come out of a 'free people' catalog. although that may have caused the over-all look to feel haphazardly put-together ..good job all the same.
4th: Designer C
this over all just didn't do it for me. the first enemble was very clean and cut but all that followed seemed to be a drab mishmash of lingerie, blankets and gardening clothes.
i smell intriga.

very obvious ang pattern of comments ng anonymous/mga anonymous na ito. as if they/he/she/ are doing it on purpose. baka kamag anak or kalaguyo ng isa sa mga designers!
ang mga valid comments are those from the regular voters who have been there since season one cos they are not biased kasi hindi naman sila namin kilalla in person, dito lang sa LTE blog nakilala.

Finally, I've seen the videos and here's my unbiased (allegedly merong kababalaghang nangyayari sa botohan) comments and choices:
A: On one end it's going sculptural and on another end it's going soft and boho. I can obviously see some wrong pattern especially in the piece with a balloning back. Have you heard of dartings? It's also too raw for my taste. I can see some loose thread hanging in the tiered dress. Nagpapaka-artsy ang gumawa nito.
Worst: the toilet paper sculptural piece
B: Dynasty redux with proportion problems. Too short. Too deep neckline. Too prissy looking. Too 80's. I saw 3 divided themes going on tied with the colors brown and olive. I was expecting party dresses with a hint of sexiness but there was nothing new about the styles presented. Di kaya may hang-over sa martini at black russian ang gumawa ng collection na ito?
Worst: 2nd to the last 'prom' dress from olive hell
C. UPS gone couture ang nakuha ko. I wrote carpentry, bee keepers, and bored housewives. Melanitis? May Miningitis yata ang designer nito. Mukhang Prada na sana yung first look but then parang UPS vision na nga ang sumunod. Yun nga lang nasagasaan ng truck habang tumatawid sa daan habang nagdeliver ng package. Alas, the last bongga piece couldn't save the collection to incoherence.
Worst: The jumper 'beekeeper' number
D. May natira pa bang parachute nylon material sa fabric store? Draping is an art. There's also functionality and elegance to think about when you do draping. Nakikita pa ba ang nagsusuot sa daming flou na nagaganap? The first part excited me and thought it was very Lanvin-esque but the last 4 dresses were simply looking limp like balloons letting off air.
Worst: 3rd to the last piece with its senseless draping.
WINNERS FOR MOI:
4th: B - Bakit ba baul-collection na naman? Basically the whole collection felt old, tiresome and unexciting. I love the colors, so elegant and unexpected - a touch of military even which could have been more exciting thematicaly. This designer needs to purge out the 80's out of his system and redo tiresome styling techniques like pleated ribbons and cinched waist into fresh propositions. I was liking the first look and the bunchy baby doll sleeveless dress. Those two styles could have been a great starting point for a great collection. Burn the rest. It could have worked to use only 2 types of fabric, you know.
3rd: C - Coma. I dig the first, and the 2 last pieces. But really, I don't get what chic statement you want to propose. Dowdy daytime and glam evenings? For a color palette so uninspiring, the whole collection needs a little shine, a little sparkle, a print, maybe. The utilitarian aspect wasn't melding with the intended tailoring and draping. Easily a forgettable collection.
2nd: D - Drapery goes demonic! May sariling buhay! Hay, wish mo lang di makain ng fan or masabit pagsara ng pintuan ng kotse. Ok na sana, promising ang sorbet colors, the unstructured construction, a hint of edginess because of the fabrication and technique. I get what you mean when you titled it 'Pretty Edgy'. I thought that was very intellectual because edginess isn't all about darkness and hardness. Sori, di yun makukuha ng nakakarami at ayoko ko nang i-explain dito. Anu ba nalalaman nila sa edginess, aber? Basta ako na-gets kita. But you lost me in the 4 finale dresses. It's draping we have seen from the last 3 LTE PR. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth ika nga sa food. Mukhang mga dirty ice cream na natutunaw sa araw at nilalangaw. The purple jumpsuit was my fave though, as well as the opening mini dress.
1st: A - A for effort. My notes: architectural but not quiet, resort with an edge pero mumurahing cottage ang kinuha, fantastic detailing especially the back portion, whimsical, London-ish, sexy, experimental na medyo sumablay pero nonetheless bold in terms of varied look, technique of cut, print, fabrication, detail and cohesiveness of concept and over-all vision.
I actually thought pinag-isipan ang collection dahil there's an attempt to make varied proportions, details and cuts. Different kinds of girls will get attracted to different pieces in the collection. The prim ones would go for the tiered dress and long column gown. The sexy ones would go for the shorts and t-shirt dress. I could see Divine Lee or Greta (fyi: she's now the muse of Ivarluski Aseron and wore a sculptural, fold-y dress) wearing the first piece dress (my fave). The fasyon ones would grab the architectural pieces.
The execution of the collection was not flawless but it's cohesive in style and definitely attuned to what's going on in fashion.

I'm a first timer and don't worry I am not related to any of you so my comments won't be biased.
FIrst Place: Designer A- the most unique among the four inspite of the lack of tailoring skills. Parang avante guard/almost couture ang collection mo. Mukhang minadali mo nga lang tita, pero nag stand out pa rin because of the colors, materials, texture and shapes u came up with. Love the short shorts with the sleeveless top and the long gown in the end!
Second Place: Designer C- there's like 3-4 pieces that are really strong and well made. I love the first and fourth look, those dresses are sexy and chic. The lace mesh effect was also effective. The sleeves you made on some of the dresses were also notable. The last dress was almost there, i would have liked it more kung naging backless maybe? That's just my opinion. Good job otherwise! ( I also don't understand the title at all.. Parang skin disorder ng manok na ewan!)
THird Place: Designer B - I love the colors and the silhouettes. They look very commercial and plain yet wearable naman talaga. Hindi nga lang mapapansin sa Higher End markets or fashion scenes in Europe or even New York. Pero I love the 4th dress (super ikli lang that the model had to always pull it up) and the 7th dress (could appeal to bigger sized women). Katakot ang third dress, very flinstones parang ngipin ng malaking hayop ang detailing at super low ang neck line! Sorry just how I felt when i saw it. Otherwise, safe and good collection naman ito.
Fourth Place: Designer D - The first dress and the jumpsuit were the only ones i liked, the yellow short dress was plain and no shape, the blue one looked unfinished and lost, and the four other long dresses were just clones of each other. Dinaan na lang sa draping but it was not flattering at all. The colors were fantastic though but the total collection and look was not cohesive and sometimes didn't make sense. Yung blue long dress lang ang medyo safe among those four. You lost it when u started the long dresses. Sorry.

1st D...pinaka may effort...you could have glued them instead of sewing them...sana cape nalang at nilaglag mo nalang ung damit...maybe by that fashionistas would luv it...
2nd B...may effort...there are alot of misses between the color and the designs...maybe because walang innovation sa designs...
3rd A...effort lang...ung 1st dress lang ang maganda...tapos wala na...ung tissue folding maganda sana un when u pair it with a pencil skirt...at tsaka parang may tae ng ibon sa ulo ng mga models mo...
4th C...walang effort...ndi ka nagtahi...tinamad ka...

so, what can i say:
designer A (beau lacque lacque): parang may experimentation na naganap sa manipulation ng tela but it did not worked well on some looks. my favourite is the 2nd. and my least favourite is the 6th, di ko maintindihan ang cut ng top and the shorts is did not fit well, parang maluwang yet uncomfy. nice job pa rin because you're certainly not afraid to experiment.
designer B (Kahlua): i like the monochromatic theme. i would certainly wear all of them. my favourite is the 2nd look nad my least favourite is the 4th short backless dress worn by jezebel. the 5th dress kinda reminded me of the dress created by sweet pea (project runway 4)during the avant garde challenge with rami.
designer C (Melanitis): well, there were hits and misses. i did'nt like the scarves and some ribbon detailing. parang may overload. some looks are kinda dowdy too. my favourite is the 7th and 8th outfit. isusuot ko in a heartbeat. very innovative ang dating. covered yet sexy.
designer D (Pretty Edgy): i like the colour palette of the dresses. i did not understand though the use of 'excess fabrics' to add flow to the short dresses. sayang lang ang tela. exceptional pieces are the pantsuit and the 7th dress. puedeng isuot sa miss universe or the oscars.
verdict:
4th place: designer C melanitis
3rd place: designer A beau lacque lacque
2nd place: designer D pretty edgy
winner: designer B kahlua on olives
p.s. this is the best season so far (for me) because all 4 designers' collections were cohesive and polished.

1st: designer C - like ko ang tones and subdued effect ng mga clothes. last gown the best.
2nd: designer B - rihanna isdatchu? sexy although nasobrahan naman sa sexy yung iba. pero bongga pa rin ang cuts and wearability. puede pa even sa mga 40 and up women.
3rd: designer A - di ako into couture masyado pero maganda actually ang tema ng collection mo. di nga lang bagay sa pinas i don't think hihihi.. pero very edgy actually!
4th: designer D - ok na ang some of the first 4 dresses sana tapos biglang puro kumot. may pajama party ba? love the colors. sexy nung mestisang modela ha!! half latina ba sha? puede isali sa miss miss. punta ka dito sa amin sa ilocos at isasali kita!

first of all, every single designer really ought did an amazing job. omg. i am completely blown away by all of them.
but since you insist on there being one winner my vote is for the best designer is:
1-Designer D. "pretty edgy".
*my favorite being the 7th dress. the blue gown. very reminisent of classic 60's soul divas & modern day Beyonce. flowing yet still allowing the wearer's shape.
*& the purplish pant suit. are pants hard to make? beautifully done!
2-Designer B. "kahlua on olives".
*i really loved the 2nd dress. sooper fierce purplish black ribboned number. i'd wear that one on a nite out. haha! sooper fierce.
*& the 5th dress, cute dark tierd dress. wow.
3-Designer C. "melanitis".
*loved the cute green layed dress with the scarf-like tie. flirty & fun...
*the 1st yellow mini dress with pockets. well done. :)
4-Designer A. "beau lacque lacque".
*the 3rd dress with pants. fantastic! the pants looks like it could be worn with anything else. well done!
